If, at times, you have hypertension, high level of bad cholesterol or enduring chronic pains, you could be eating too much processed meat, trans fat & other pro-inflammatory foods. Balance out your pro-inflammatory diet by taking more anti-inflammatory foods like fatty fish, olive oil, vegetables and MUFA food supplement. MonoUnsaturated Fatty Acids (MUFA) help reduce inflammation, lower bad cholesterol & triglycerides.
According to Harvard Health, many major diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, depression and Alzheimer’s, have been linked to chronic inflammation.
Inflammation is actually a defense mechanism in the body. When something harmful or irritating affects a part of our body, the immune system initiates biochemical reactions to send white blood cells to fight off intruders like toxins and bacteria, in order to contain the problem in that area and prevent it from spreading in other parts of the body. The signs and symptoms like swelling, redness and pain can be uncomfortable but it only shows that inflammation and the inflammatory process is working to help the body heal itself. The problem is, when the inflammation becomes “chronic” and remains longer than 3 days. This happens when your immune system is compromised as a result of the imbalance of pro-inflammatory foods and anti-inflammatory foods in your diet.
MonoUnsaturated Fatty Acids: MUFA food supplement
Oleia Softgel MUFA Supplement helps reduce inflammation and lower bad cholesterol & triglycerides.
Oleia Softgel is also recommended as adjunct therapy/help for the following conditions, which are all characterised by inflammation:
- Hypertension (characterised by inflamed blood vessels)
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis)
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Psoriasis/Psoriatic arthritis
- Prostate inflammation
- Stroke, Bell’s palsy
- Renal disease
- Myoma, cyst, tumor
- Depression, Alzheimer’s
Depression and Inflammation
While it is not certain that Major Depressive Disorder (Depression) is a pure ‘inflammatory’ disease, research shows that patients with inflammatory diseases are more likely to show greater rates of depression; that a large number of people with major depression show elevated peripheral inflammatory biomarkers, even in the absence of a medical illness.
OLEIA Softgel contains MUFA: Monounsaturated Fats- Omega-5 from Cetylated fatty acids (Myristoleic acid) and Omega-9 (Oleic acid) from Olive Oil.
Omega-5, otherwise known as myristoleic acid, is a monounsaturated fat (14:1) — found in the seed oil from plants like nutmeg & saw palmetto. Myristoleic acid extracted from saw palmetto has been shown to effectively combat cancer cells in prostate and pancreatic cancers. Omega-5 may play a key role in the inhibition of 5-lipoxygenase, a mediator of inflammation. Other food sources of omega-5 include wild Alaskan salmon, beavers, and bovines.
Omega-9 fatty acids are from a family of unsaturated fats that are commonly found in vegetable and animal fats. These fatty acids are also known as oleic acid, or monounsaturated fats, and can often be found in olive oil, mustard oil, nut oils and, nuts such as almonds.
High-MUFA Diets can Reduce Inflammation
Clinical Study: Mediterranean (MUFA) diet reduces inflammation and coagulation process in healthy adults.
The researchers studied the effect of the Mediterranean diet on plasma levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), white blood cell counts, interleukin (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, amyloid A, fibrinogen, and homocysteine. They concluded that adherence to the traditional Mediterranean diet was associated with a reduction in the concentrations of inflammation and coagulation markers. Replacement of dietary Saturated fats with MUFA may reduce the risk of inflammation-related diseases
Clinical Study: Consumption of an SFA diet resulted in a proinflammatory “obesity-linked” gene expression profile, whereas consumption of a MUFA diet caused a more antiinflammatory profile. This suggests that replacement of dietary SFA with MUFA could prevent adipose tissue inflammation and may reduce the risk of inflammation-related diseases such as metabolic syndrome.

Replacement of Trans Fatty acids (TFA) with MUFA increased HDL good cholesterol ratio
Clinical Study: A recent meta-analysis of 13 randomized controlled trials indicated that isocaloric replacement of TFA with either polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) increased the total cholesterol to high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio.

High Intake of MUFA can reduce Cholesterol & Triglycerides
Study: Cholesterol reduction using manufactured foods high in Monounsaturated Fatty Acids
In two separate studies, the cholesterol-lowering efficacy of a diet high in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) was evaluated by means of a randomized crossover trial. In conclusion, diets in which saturated fat is partially replaced by MUFA can achieve significant reductions in total and LDL-cholesterol concentrations, even when total fat and energy intakes are maintained. Published by PubMed at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10615219
High-MUFA diets lowered total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol
Clinical Study: High-monounsaturated fatty acid diets lower both plasma cholesterol and triacylglycerol concentrations. A high-MUFA, cholesterol-lowering diet may be preferable to a low-fat diet because of more favorable effects on the CVD risk profile. Published by PubMed at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10584045
People who eat more MUFA have lower rate of Breast Cancer
Study: Olive oil, other dietary fats, and the risk of breast cancer (Italy).
Data from a multicenter case-control study on breast cancer conducted in Italy have been used to analyze the relationship of olive oil and other dietary fats to breast cancer risk. Cases were 2,564 women hospitalized with histologically confirmed, incident breast cancer. Controls were 2,588 women admitted to the same network of hospitals for acute, non-neoplastic, non-hormone related, non-digestive tract disorders. Cases and controls were interviewed between 1991 and 1994 using a validated food-frequency questionnaire.
The study, based on a large dataset from various Italian regions, shows an inverse relationship of breast cancer risk with intake of olive oil and other vegetable oils. Published by PubMed at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8580304

“I prescribe Oleia Softgel 500mg 2caps per day to my patients because it helps provide anti-inflammatory fats in the major neurotransmitters of the brain. Deficiency of good fats in the brain causes swelling of neurons that lead to mental illness like depression, aneurysm, Alzheimer’s disease and schizophrenia. Mental illness may be caused by reaction to environmental stresses, genetic factors, poor food choices or a combination of these. It is very crucial that we provide proper attention to our brain by eating healthy foods especially good fats, by exercising regularly and taking Oleia Softgels daily” -Dra. Myrna Cuerdo, Psychiatrist
“I am a breast cancer patient. I had both breasts removed by surgery then I had chemotherapy 2x monthly for 3 months. I was haunted with severe pain I had to take 4 kinds of pain relievers, including morphine.
A friend introduced OLEIA to me. After applying OLEIA Topical Oil and taking 2 OLEIA softgels daily for about a week, the pain subsided.
I have been using both oral and topical OLEIA for quite a time now and the pain is no longer as intense as before. I am happy that I don’t have to take morphine and the other pain relievers anymore.
Let us spread the good news about OLEIA and help those who are in pain. I thank God for OLEIA.” – Crescenciana G. Castillo
“Since I used Oleia softgel and Oleia topical oil in 2012, I never had migraine attack anymore. “I was suffering from arthritis and the pain & swelling wouldn’t let me do anything manual. My right hand hurt so badly that I couldn’t use it at all. With other medications, I didn’t feel like I was getting better and the pain would always come back. I had to put my hands in warm water to gain temporary relief. Then I learned about OLEIA Softgels. Now, the pain is gone and I am able to work again.”
