One of my favorite shows to watch before is Myth Busters – this show highlighted a fact that most people accept, and they tested it out to find out if it’s true. More than several myths had been busted by this show and today we are going to do just the same. Let’s talk about some of the common myths about healthy living and discover the truths that can really help us to live healthy!

Common health myths busted!

Myth – If you eat after you exercise, then you just canceled your entire workout.

Fact – It is very important to eat after a workout. What most people don’t realize is that when you eat after exercising, it just doesn’t go back to your body as fat right away. In fact, after your work out, your body needs to recover. Eating a highly nutritious meal after your work out will even improve your fitness training.

Myth – When you eat fat, you will get fat

Fact – There is a certain notion that fat makes you fat, however the truth is that eating the right fats is a smart strategy for losing weight. One example of a fat that is good for the body are plant fats. Plant fats are taken from avocados, nuts and seeds. Taking this type of fat has been shown to reduce inflammation and boost metabolism.

Myth – Eggs should be avoided because of their high cholesterol count

Fact – Studies has shown that eating eggs does not really do much in affecting our cholesterols levels. Eggs are even a better source of many nutrients. What is more health risky are the oils used in frying eggs or those foods that are high in saturated fat.

Myth – A shot of alcohol can give you a good night’s rest

Fact – Drinking alcohol does not prove to beneficial at all in the overall health of the body. Moreover alcohol can even destroy sleep and increase the time you get to be awaken.

Myth – Only medicines can help treat pain

Fact – There are a lot of alternatives in treating pain. Painkillers like Ibuprofen can even had bad side effects to the body.
